The Studio
In 2007, Steve Jobs held up an iPhone and the world changed overnight. Within five years, BlackBerries were in drawers. Pagers were in landfills. Mixtapes were Spotify playlists. House parties were Instagram stories.
The entire analog layer of human connection — the one that ran on physical keyboards, handwritten notes, and showing up in person — went dark. Not because it was bad. Because something shinier came along.
Meanwhile, billions of devices sit in drawers and landfills. Screens off. Pixels dead.
deadpxl starts with a simple question: what if we lit them back up?
What We Believe
The best hardware already exists. It just needs a new brain.
We don't manufacture devices from scratch. We take the ones the world left behind — BlackBerries, pagers, Sidekicks — and give them new guts. The keyboard, the screen, the case were already perfect.
AI should free you from your phone, not trap you in it.
Every AI product today lives inside a smartphone or a browser tab. That's like putting a jet engine in a traffic jam. AI belongs in dedicated, distraction-free devices and experiences.
The analog era wasn't a bug. It was a feature.
Before smartphones, people typed on physical keyboards and meant every word. They showed up to things because FOMO was a feeling, not a feed. That wasn't primitive. That was focused.
Nostalgia is not a gimmick. It's a signal.
The resurgence of film cameras, vinyl records, and flip phones isn't a trend — it's a correction. We're building for a permanent shift in how people want to interact with technology.
Privacy is a design choice, not a feature toggle.
Our first product ships with the camera and microphone physically disconnected. Not disabled in software — electrically unwired. The default should be "can't spy on you."
